Classic Light Shade Cork Tile | WECORK Classic Collection, Glue-Down
Homogenous through the full thickness
Classic tiles are homogenous, meaning the material is the same cork the whole way down rather than a wear layer over a core. They sand and refinish like a hardwood floor. On a commercial install that changes the lifecycle math: a floor that can be refinished rather than replaced. This applies across the Classic shades, Light, Medium, and Dark, with the single exception of Medium Shade Stained.
Four thicknesses, finished and unfinished
- 3/16" finished, in 4" x 4" and 12" x 12" samples
- 1/4" unfinished, in 4" x 4" and 12" x 12" samples
- 5/16" finished, in 4" x 4" and 12" x 12" samples
- 5/16" unfinished, 12" x 12" sample
- 1/2" finished, 4" x 4" sample
Unfinished tile is for installs where the finish is applied on site, typically to match adjacent flooring or hit a specific sheen. Finished tile arrives ready to install.
Why cork
Cork holds roughly 200 million air cells per cubic inch. It absorbs impact and airborne sound rather than reflecting it, acts as a natural thermal barrier so the floor stays warm over slab and basement subfloors, and compresses and returns to near 100%, like standing on air all day. Cork is naturally hypoallergenic; the suberin in the bark resists mold, mildew, and dust mites with no chemical treatment and no VOC off-gassing. The bark is stripped every nine years and the tree is never cut.
About this sample
These are cut samples, not flooring for installation. If you are deciding between thicknesses, the 4" x 4" cuts are the inexpensive way to compare side by side.
