Monsanto Birch Cork Flooring | WECORK Avant Garde Collection
Monsanto Birch is part of the WECORK Avant Garde Collection, and one of the patterns in the line offered in both installation formats. One of the newest patterns in the collection. Order it as a floating plank sample, or as a glue-down sample to see the permanent-bond format, including the 12" x 24" installed tile size. If you have not settled on an installation method yet, sample both: same pattern, different feel underfoot, and a different install path.
Why cork
Cork holds roughly 200 million air cells per cubic inch. That structure absorbs impact and airborne sound rather than reflecting it, which matters in second-floor and multifamily installations. It acts as a natural thermal barrier, so the floor stays warm underfoot even over a slab or a basement subfloor. And it compresses and returns to near 100%, like standing on air all day. Cork is naturally hypoallergenic; the suberin in the bark resists mold, mildew, and dust mites with no chemical treatment and no VOC off-gassing. The bark is stripped every nine years and the tree is never cut.
